I thought it would be good to include at the beginning a post about how Impact are hoping to spend the funds they raise during their 20th year. Obviously, there are the ongoing costs of the paid staff, including the recent hire of a Parish nurse and a part-time administrator, work on the building, money spent on training and transport (they really need to buy a van), and many donations are received in-kind such as food for the food bank, items for Christmas parcels, toiletries for those in need, etc. However, the hope is to raise enough funds to meet some of the growing needs in the West End community.
Specifically, WEI have said that they hope to raise enough funds this year to help with…
Our Well-Being courses are oversubscribed and we want to add more courses and counsellors.
Our Advice & Guidance team is busier than ever, we’d love to train some more advisors.
Our volunteer programme needs more courses and training.
As the year goes on I’ll give you some examples of the different work done by staff and volunteers and how even small donations can go towards making a real difference to people’s lives.
